At the heart of Newcastle city centre, Eldon Square is one of the North East’s biggest shopping, dining and leisure destinations, with more than 140 stores .

It’s also home to the newly opened Freight Island Newcastle, a 60,000 sq ft rooftop destination bringing together food, drink, live music and DJs, adding a whole new layer to what a day or night in the city centre can look like.

For Show Up North, Eldon Square becomes part of our Friday programme, hosting special after-hours experiences and helping us take the event beyond one building and into the heart of Newcastle itself.

Silent Disco King is supporting our marketplace and goodie bags, as well as supplying 150 wireless headsets that will be used across some of the weekend’s most immersive movement, music and after-dark experiences.

Their support means they are part of far more than one session. They are helping shape the atmosphere of the event itself, from the moments guests arrive to the experiences they take away with them.

OddBalls are joining the marketplace with their Design Your Own Pants activity, giving guests the chance to get creative and design something bold, colourful or completely ridiculous.

Take on the Sweatband Wall Sit Challenge in the marketplace, test your legs, challenge a friend and see how long you can hold it.

We’ll have a Smart Works donation point throughout the weekend. Bring along good-quality workwear, shoes, bags and accessories you no longer wear and help support women preparing for interviews and employment.

HiiTcentive is a fitness rewards app designed to make showing up count. Members log their workouts, earn points and unlock rewards and discounts as they build consistency.

For Show Up North, HiiTcentive is bringing the energy to our Saturday morning Hydration Rave by providing the DJ, and they’ll also be in the marketplace across the weekend so guests can discover the app for themselves.

It’s a really natural fit for Show Up North: movement, motivation, community and finding more reasons to keep showing up.

Summer on the Southside - Formerly By the River Brew Co. is an independent container community that lives and breathes beneath the iconic Tyne Bridge on the Gateshead side of the river.
